Scenes from 2015

Like every year, 2015 came and went in the blink of an eye. I started a new part-time job and I have gotten to know some of the sweetest people through my work, so that has been awesome. We took some family trips to the beach and mountains, which we always enjoy. There was no health crises this year and that is always something to be thankful for! Jeremy started driving and he gets his license next summer (and I'm going to be terrified). We shared so much goofiness and laughter together, just enjoying time as a family, which are the most memorable times for me.
I love using Instagram and my cell phone is always handy to grab when my camera is not. These are some shots I took throughout 2015. Most of which are scenery and pets. But who can resist their pets?

The Farm Life

Last November, I went to visit and old friend and she took me over to her uncles farm to walk around, because I wanted to take pictures. We had a great time catching up as we strolled around the barn, silos and through the pastures. I saw the cutest cows and one almost licked me threw the fence with her humongous tongue.
I recently had another chance to visit a farm, because my sister and her husband put on craft fairs and they had one at Hodges Farm in Charlotte. I didn't get to see as much of the farm as I had hoped because there was also a wedding taking place in one of the barns, so we had to steer clear of that. My niece and I walked around the side, where we would be out of view, to look around.
These pictures are from both last year at my friends family farm and from Hodges. They allow photographers to take portraits there, so maybe I will get an opportunity to go back and take some pics.

Greenville Day Trip

My husband and I are always trying to think of fun day trips we can take that are within a couple of hours from home. While we love visiting the mountains, we have been to many places up there and it is hard to think of somewhere new to go. Not to mention, we have a 16 year old, so we want the trip to be entertaining for him and not cost us a fortune.
It was supposed to be pretty weather last Saturday so we decided to visit Greenville, SC. I had heard that the downtown area and Falls Park were really nice, so I wanted to check it out. We walked down Main Street first, checked out the Mast General Store, and then on to see the park. I was impressed with the large waterfalls and all the quiet little places to sit and people watch. Jeremy is not into climbing rocks like he used to be, but several years ago he would have been all over the large boulders in the creek. There is a bridge that goes across the water, but it moves a little and I was very aware of the motion, so that made me feel a little wonky.
After hanging out in the park for a while and chatting with people, we met up with an old friend of Mikes to have dinner. I was so glad we decided to make the trip. I love visiting new places, but best of all, I love spending time with my guys!

There was a girl playing guitar and singing, so of course my fellas had to watch, being the
guitar lovers that they are. We ended up meeting her, and she is really talented.

Fresh Start

Welcome to the first official post of my new blog!

My name is Lori and I am a wife, mother, graphic designer and photographer. I have been sharing photos, my family and travel stories, cottage design finds and more online since 2011 with my blog giggleboxphotos.blogspot.com

After many years of photographing our travels and my son as he grew up, I decided to start Gigglebox Photography, offering natural light portraits . Then I discovered Etsy and opened a shop for my nature, coastal and travel photos called Studio Number 7. Now I am hoping to simplifying things by starting a new blog and have everything under one name.

I plan to continue to share my photography along with personal stories and adventures, love of interior design (especially beach cottages) and maybe some recipes too. I hope you will check back again!
